Karachi police officer arrested for allegedly working for RAW


KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday arrested a suspected member of a cell operated by Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
According to FIA officials, the suspect was serving as an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in the special branch of the police and was a key member of a RAW sleeper cell.
"The blamed ASI was on reconnaissance obligation at the Karachi airport at the time of arrest," authorities said. 
Accoridng to FIA officials, the suspect had been enlisted in Sindh Police in the year 1991 and was a member of MQM's London group. He had been involved in facilating his partners at the airport and was likewise engaged with target killings and terrorism. 
Officials included that the accused had visited India in 2008 to get preparing. 
A month ago, another cop from Karachi was arrested for purportedly working for RAW. As indicated by police authorities, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the police and other undercover bodies had arrested ASI Shehzad Pervaiz from Gulistan-e-Jauhar in Karachi. 
The arrestedASI—who was an inhabitant of Gulestan-e-Jauhar — was positioned at the Shahrah-e-Faisal police headquarters, the police authorities stated, including that two hand projectiles were likewise recuperated from his ownership. 
As per police reports, the arrested person was associated with MQM-London and was engaged with different fear based oppressor exercises previously. In addition, the suspect was likewise filling in as a key part in bunches that are blamed for being associated with target killings in Karachi.
